Hint of Summer

I love, love, love warmer weather because it means that bright Lilly Pulitzer prints are finally able to be taken out of storage again! I got the top above in the After Party sale in January - I have to say, it's one of my favorite finds of any of the sales I've participated in so far. The print is so fun, just as all Lilly prints are, and it pairs so nicely with white jeans! I can definitely see myself wearing this outfit to a restaurant at the beach or just to a fun event on a cool summer night.

Spring Stripes

Spring Stripes

yellow stripes//dress//swimsuit top//swimsuit bottoms//teal and blue pouch//red stripes//shorts//three-quarter sleeve top//light blue and tan pouch

There are so many good stripe options out right now. And to be honest, I have the urge to buy all of them. Half of my closet is already filled with stripes, but then again, can you really have too many stripes? I don't think so. I especially love the collaboration between J. Crew and Saint James - two great things put together to make something wonderful. Needless to say, I'll be adding a few stripes to my closet sometime soon!

P.S. - Apologies for my lack of posts as of late! The school year is picking up as it comes to an end, but I'll try my best to stay up to date.

A Weekend on the Shore

This past weekend, my sorority's bible study group took a retreat to Amelia Island, which is right below the Florida/Georgia line. Needless to say, it was gorgeous. The trip was the perfect break I needed from school before things crank up before finals. I don't know about you, but there are few things I love more than walking on the beach and breathing the salty air. I made the most of my two days there and woke up for sunrise each morning and stayed up late each night. Though I may still be tired from the trip, it was well worth it. Here are some photos!

By the way, the J. Crew t-shirt I'm wearing in most of the photos is probably the most comfortable thing I own. And it's on sale and comes in a ton of colors!!

Instagram Lately

As you may know, Instagram is my favorite social media platform (follow along @caitlinmarie17!). I love sharing images from my adventures and daily life, as well as seeing what others are up to. But, sometimes a caption doesn't include all the details of an eventful day, so I thought I'd share a little more than my photos let on!

This past weekend, my friends and I ventured to a spot in Athens termed "Redneck Beach." To get to it, you follow a narrow trail off the highway and eventually make it to an area with a river, mini waterfall and sandy shores, including an island. We tanned and read and hung up some hammocks as well. The water was a bit too cold to go in, but we did have to wade through to get to the island in the middle.

I've been wanting to try this chocolate shop for the longest time and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Two friends and I decided to spontaneously make a trip this past Friday and not only was the chocolate amazing, but the gelato was great, as well. I will definitely be back.

Maybe it's the colder weather or maybe it's the huge pile of schoolwork I've been putting off - either way, I would give anything to be in Cape Cod right now. We spend a chunk of every summer there with our cousins. Some of my best memories are from those times! It's safe to say that I'm counting down the days until I'm back. This particular image is from one of our days kayaking on a lake there!

I talked a little about my Easter in Atlanta a little in this post, but I love this photo too much not to include it. The flowers were gorgeous next to our brunch spot, so I couldn't resist taking this. Brunch was too good, by the way. If you're ever in the Atlanta area, Rise-n-Dine is a must.

Just like "Redneck Beach," the Iron Horse is another one of those random adventure spots in Athens. Basically, it's a giant metal horse in the middle of a huge cornfield. The thing that makes it fun is the people that you're with, considering the notion of a random structure in a field seems a little odd. Anyway, a group of us decided to go for sunrise and even though we had to wake up extremely early, the views and pictures were all worth it.

The Perfect White Jeans

shirt//LOFT (similar here and here)

I've been looking for a good pair of white jeans for the longest time. Every pair I put on was either too baggy, too see-through, or too tight in the wrong places. After trying on what felt like the millionth pair, these AG jeans finally fit really well. I've always had problems with jeans because I'm not the curviest person ever and I always need something on more of the petite side, but the AGs felt like they're made for me! Plus, they are so, so soft.

That being said, I can definitely see this as being one of my go-to outfits for cooler days this summer. This denim shirt is so comfortable and goes with practically anything. The other day, I paired it with patterned Lilly shorts.

Happy Friday!
