Kendra Scott: Mystic Bazaar

shirt (similar here and here) shorts - purse - shoes (only $16!)

And Kendra Scott does it again! I’m thoroughly impressed with Mystic Bazaar, their fall collection. The pieces are so unique, yet still stay true to the classic Kendra Scott style. Plus, as I’ve said in posts about Kendra Scott before, these photos don’t really do too much justice for the gems on these pieces: you really must see them in person to get the full experience!

Something else I love about this collection: it styles well with other collections. The necklace and bracelet with the purple drusy stones are from the Avant Garden collection, and I think they work together nicely. It’s always fun to mix and match when it comes to jewelry.

Check out a few of my favorite picks from the collection below:

New York: Day Two

Biggest regret of day two in New York: not taking a picture of the amazing breakfast we had at Le Pain Quotidien. Think avocado toast, quiche, hard-boiled eggs served with bread varieties, pots of tea and coffee, etc. It really was the best.

After breakfast, we made our way to the Rockefeller Center where we saw one of those daily talk shows being filmed, and then it was on to the Top of the Rock! The view of New York from the Rockefeller is amazing. The building is right before Central Park, so you can see all of it without any buildings being in the way. There's also a perfect view of the Empire State Building! It was quite cloudy while we were up there, but still so worth it.

After the Rock, it was off to Madison Avenue for a little shopping. We made sure to stop at the Lilly store where I got this dress and these shorts, and of course, we had to go to Laduree. As typical as it sounds, I love macarons. They're almost my favorite dessert, right behind ice cream (even though I'm low-key lactose intolerant...). There are some pretty good macarons in Atlanta, but nothing compares to Laduree. I wish I could've taken the whole store home with me.

We went down to Central Park to eat our macarons and take a break from all the walking. (Pro-tip: don't wear uncomfortable shoes in New York.) I'd always wanted to see the pond where you can sail mini, remote-controlled sailboats, so we asked around and eventually found it! Cutest thing ever.

Central Park has the absolute best scenery. I'm sure you've heard it before, but you really could forget you're in a huge city if you wander around long enough.

I can't tell you how many tries it took to get that twirling picture.

New York: Day One

After visiting our cousins in Cape Cod, we headed to New York for a quick two-day stop before visiting my grandpa in New Jersey. Oh how I wish I had more photos from our first day in New York! Unfortunately, it was raining so my sister and I only had a few quick seconds in-between rain storms to snap some photos. So, apologies for the lack of pictures from day one.

As crazy as Times Square can be, I always make myself go when my family visits New York. There's something about the lights and everything going on that takes the crazy away and turns it into the feeling you get when you're in a really exciting place - which is exactly what New York is. Don't get me wrong, I love the quieter parts of New York (Upper East Side, Greenwich Village, etc.), but there's a certain quality that Times Square holds that makes you want to go back. Whether it's the big stores, or the glowing lights, it's definitely a must to get a taste of the city.

After wandering Times Square and hopping in and out of stores to avoid the rain, we went back to our hotel to rest. Our hotel was the neatest place - it was called the Novotel and had a huge European vibe to it. The best part was the balcony in the picture below that overlooked Times Square! I would definitely stay there again, if not for the location, but for the service too.

We grabbed a quick snack and then headed off to see Aladdin on Broadway! I had seen it last summer with my mom, but my sister had never seen it and it was so good that I had no problem seeing it again. The acting was phenomenal and the sets are always fun to look at. To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing it a third time!

Check back soon for details on day two!

Agenda Favorites

Simple: 1 - 2 - 3

Colorful: 1 - 2 - 3

Shiny: 1- 2 - 3

With a fresh school year coming up, I've started scouring every site I know for the perfect planner. I ended up getting this one, and I can't wait to start using it! I hate to admit it, but even though most agendas go past when school ends, I always buy a new one for each new school year! A new agenda always feels like a fresh motivator to getting work done on time and keeping track of goals.

My tip for taking full advantage of  a planner: map out every important date on the section of each month where you get the full layout of the month. It really helps to get a bird's-eye-view of what you can expect from each month when you can see it all at once.

Pro-tip: order your agenda now, because the closer it gets to the beginning of the school year, the more you'll find that your favorite is sold out!

Vineyard Vines Shep Shirts

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about Shep Shirts before buying this navy one. I had tried them on before and loved how they fit, yet I still wasn't sure why I should buy one when I already had a few quarter zips (i.e Patagonia, North Face, etc.). But, I tried one on again when I was in the Vineyard Vines store on Martha's Vineyard, and I just couldn't walk away.

What I realized, is that they're perfect for nights that have that perfect wind chill. This could be a night on the beach, or a summer or fall bonfire. It'll also be perfect for fall days that are a little chilly, but not quite cold enough for a full-on jacket. It's great for layering too! Needless to say, I'm already excited for it to get a little colder so I can wear it more often.

Below are some of my favorite Shep Shirts:

Stripes at Sunset

I can't even begin to describe how much I miss my cousins, and Cape Cod in general. The beaches were always so wonderful, as well as the weather. Sitting in the sweltering heat here in Atlanta isn't the best of times when compared to the sea breeze felt all over the Cape. Seriously, it was cool enough to wear sweaters and even pants at night! Crazy times.

Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

The new arrivals from Lilly Pulitzer are to die for. I was recently in the Madison Avenue Lilly store in New York, but I'm sad to say these arrivals weren't out yet! (I did snag this dress, though.) The dress I can see myself wearing non-stop is the all navy fit-and-flare in the image above. It would be fitting for a wedding, a formal, a casual day out, a nice dinner...the list goes on!

I think the most unique thing about Lilly is how they stay true to colorful, fun prints. When I think of Fall, I think of warm colors - all very similar warm colors, might I add. What I love about Lilly's Fall arrivals is that they're all still very bright and inviting! It's great to be able to use these adorable patterns to add a little personality to a fall wardrobe.

The short Hunters are also in this sale, so I might consider those as well.

This sale is definitely a great time to stock up on items for fall and winter as well. My friend Sarah recently wrote a great post on summer and fall ready items in the sale. Check it out here!

Martha's Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard was the best time. We started the day by renting a yellow jeep and we ended up driving all over the island with the top down - the wind was brutal but it was so, so worth it. The scenery is spectacular. Every time we turned a corner there was something new to gawk at, whether it was a hidden bay, a row of boats, or a gorgeously designed house. I feel like moving to the island has jumped up on my list of priorities! Anyway, here are my top picks for things to do in Martha's Vineyard:

1//Aquinnah  Cliffs: These cliffs are such a sight to see. If you've ever seen Ireland's Cliffs of Moher, these cliffs aren't too far off from that type of view.

2//Edgartown Shopping: The original Vineyard Vines is here! Apparently when the Obamas vacation in the Vineyard, they get a private shopping experience in VV - some of the employees had even met them!

3//Ben and Bill's Ice Cream in Oak Bluffs: Best. Ice cream. Ever. Seriously, you have to try this ice cream. It's so worth it.

4//Gingerbread Houses in Oak Bluffs: These are the cutest little houses you will ever see. There are two whole long streets of them and people rent them for the summer! They're all very colorful and adorably decorated - definitely a must see.

5//The Black Dog Bakery: Yes, it's touristy, but it's also great.

6//Overlook of the Ocean in Edgartown: There's a great spot right on the harbor in Edgartown where you can climb up a few steps to get a wonderful view of all the boats docked. It's right across from Chappaquiddick island and to the right of the lighthouse in the area.

Jetty Strolls

I am loving Cape Cod. It's always wonderful to come back every summer and see my cousins and all the sights that this gorgeous area has to offer. Yesterday we went down to the Wychmere Harbor club in Harwich. My mom used to go there all the time as a kid so she told us stories of her days on the beaches. We walked down the jetty but almost got soaked by the giant waves crashing into the rocks!
It was quite an eventful day and I can't wait to share more photos. To see even more, check out my Instagram: caitlinmarie17

Down the Cape

We've arrived in Cape Cod! The weather is gorgeous, the hydrangeas are gorgeous, everything is gorgeous. I couldn't be happier to be here. We go practically every summer because our cousins have a house here so we stay with them. It's so much fun to catch up with them each year! I wish I could see them more often, but it's quite a journey. Normally, we drive (for two days) to the Cape, but this year we (gladly) chose to fly. Here are some photos!

I absolutely love taking photos - it helps when the location is as gorgeous as Cape Cod! These were all taken in an area called Chatham. We're going to head back later this week to go to all the cute shops in the area - there's also a candy shop that has fudge that is to die for.

Look for more updates later this week!
