Scallops in the Sun

As much as I miss camp, I'm happy to be back in my home with the comfort of air conditioning. The heat was so, so intense - 90 degrees or higher everyday! I sweated more than I ever thought I would, honestly. Being a photographer for the camp that I've been going to for ten years was such a wonderful experience. My legs may be full of bug bites, but I loved every minute of it.

Anyway, I am in love with these scalloped shorts from Lilly Pulitzer. They pattern is so wonderful that I didn't want to take away from it so I paired it with a plain white v-neck. I'm also still loving this Kendra Scott necklace - I've been wearing it pretty much everyday. And, I cannot get enough of these Steve Madden sandals! They're perfect for any outfit, whether it's a t-shirt and shorts, or a cute day dress.

Cape Cod Pinspiration

Apologies, apologies, apologies for my lack of posts here and on Instagram. I'm currently at my summer camp as a photographer - it's so much fun, but always busy. I'm super excited for the upcoming weeks as I'll be traveling first to Cape Cod, then to New York, and finally New Jersey! Expect tons of posts from those trips. For now, here's a little glimpse into Cape Cod/Nantucket life.

What to Bring to College Orientation

I just finished my orientation at the University of Georgia and boy was it exhausting! They had us go from room to room to session to session, each with more information to the next. The orientation leaders were wonderful and I made a few friends! The whole process got me really excited for going to college in the fall - I was sad I couldn't just move in and get going while I was there. That being said, both of the two days were very, very long and I couldn't have survived without a few key items.

1. Large Purse or Backpack
You're going to get a lot of stuff. Papers, pens, t-shirts, folders, toothbrushes (yes, we got free toothbrushes), etc. It's not fun to carry all of this stuff in your hands as you walk around campus, so you'll want something to carry them in.

2. Water Bottle
Unless you're going to college in Antarctica, it's probably going to be very hot during your orientation (if it's during the summer). Don't be that one person that passes out from lack of hydration.

3. A Notebook and Pen
So, so much information is going to be thrown at you in a very short amount of time that it's practically impossible to remember it all. Write it down!

4. Makeup Compacts/Mini Hairbrush
Orientation days are long. You most likely won't have much downtime so it's important to have anything you need to touch up makeup/hair while you're on the go.

5. ID Numbers/Paperwork
Chances are that you'll need any ID numbers the school has assigned to you since you'll probably get an ID card or something else while you're there. You might also need transcripts, health forms, etc.

And most of all, have fun! It's the beginning of an exciting journey.

Red, White, and Navy Blue

Happy belated Flag Day! Remember this post about the Westside Provisions District in Atlanta? Well, I just had to go back, seeing as it's the cutest place in town. During this visit, many of the shops were closed since it was Sunday, but there was an adorable little farmer's market in the area! Biggest regret of the day: not taking pictures of the perfect set-ups of fruits and vegetables. Bigger regret of the day: not taking a picture with the man dressed up as a giant peach. Anyway, the setting was perfect for an impromptu outfit post, so ignore the iPhone camera quality. :)

Also, side-note: Forever 21 makes the most comfortable v-necks for the best price - $3.90! You really can't beat that. While Forever 21 isn't known for the best quality clothes, their v-necks and t-shirts really ace it. I always find myself needing a white t-shirt, so I grab another one every time I'm near a store!

Styling Chino Shorts

Styling Chino Shorts

casual outfit: shoes//shorts//shirt

dinner out outfit: shirt//bracelet//shorts

day trip outfit: sunglasses (on sale!)//shirt//shorts

J. Crew's chino shorts are simply the best. They're a summer wardrobe staple and perfect for practically any occasion. (Okay, maybe not a wedding. Or a marathon, for that matter.) At the sale price J. Crew Factory is offering, they're practically irresistible! Not gonna lie, at first I had some trouble styling them. I found myself tucking in a white t-shirt with a belt every time I tried to wear a pair of these colorful shorts. I started to play with color-blocking, and loved it! It's also fun to layer some simple jewelry over your choice of top.

Also, my Mon-Wed-Fri posting schedule is way off by now - maybe it's because of how hard it is to keep track of the day of the week in the summertime. I'm going to try my absolute best to maintain my blog and post frequently, yet as I'm transitioning into college and traveling a lot this summer, posting will most likely be spontaneous - gotta keep it exciting, right? Anyway, some exciting posts are in the works as I have my orientation for college soon, and then I'm going to camp for a week as a volunteer photographer (eep!) and then it's off to Cape Cod and NYC!!

Sunsets and Shorts

First, apologies for wearing the same necklace and shoes in the past few posts. They just match everything that it's so hard to leave them at home! Second, I want this shirt in every. single. color. It's the perfect fit and is great over jeans and shorts. It's not too flowy, but not too tight. Plus, the sheer material is great! Third, I cannot get over how much I love these shorts. They're soft, adorable and great for anything - J. Crew does it again!

Patterned Shorts

patterned shorts

Left column: 1 | 2 | 3
Right column: 1 | 2

I've been living in patterned shorts this year ever since it was warm enough to leave the jeans at home. They're so much fun to wear and the pairs made of flowy fabric (like these) feel like pajamas, but look so, so cute - it's great! Shorts like the ones above are easily styled: throw on a white top and a necklace, and you're good to go! Dress them up with wedges, or dress them down with a cute pair of flats or sandals.

Helen, GA (Bright Shorts Link-Up)

Helen, GA is quite the quirky town - it's a little German village in the middle of Nowhere, Georgia right at the beginning of the North Georgia mountain range. There's a large river running through the town (great for tubing) and views of the mountains every which way. Every corner is filled with "German" restaurants and "German" shops. It really did make for a great day trip, though.

Also, this post is a part of the Bright Shorts Link-Up, hosted by Meg of A Sunny State of Mind! Click here to see her post, as well as the other posts in the link-up.

10 Summer Essentials

Summer Essentials

Any cap will do, really. Hats are great for a day by the pool, a walk down the beach, or just any old day where you don't feel like figuring out your hair (something I'm much too familiar with.) They're the perfect lazy-day accessory.

I love, love, love my Ray Ban Clubmasters. They're the perfect accessory for any outfit, especially on a bright day. They look great either on, atop your head, or tucked into a shirt collar. Plus, it doesn't hurt to protect your eyes from UV rays.

Lilly Pulitzer makes some great white dresses, such as the one above. Summer is the perfect time to pull out all the white you painstakingly put away after Labor Day.

If they weren't already, printed shorts are a huge trend this summer. I've seen them everywhere, and have even purchased a few pairs myself. I also love the flowy, softer, and less structured printed shorts that are trending right now such as these from J. Crew.

Two words: Jack Rogers. These sandals are a summer staple. I want them in every color in every style. They go with any outfit, whether it's shorts and a t-shirt, or a cute day dress. Another few sandal options: these and these from Steve Madden.

Cross-body bags are wonderful for summer. I always find myself out and about and a purse is the last thing I want to deal with. It's great to be able to sling one across your shoulder and forget about it. Kate Spade makes some great ones!

Does this need an explanation? Probably not.

Striped shirts are practically made for summer. You can pair them with jean shorts, jeans, printed shorts, colorful shorts, skirts, etc, etc, etc. Basically, they look good with anything and scream class.

Wedges dress up any outfit. They're perfect for day or night as well. I prefer tan or brown because they match so much, but it doesn't hurt to have a black pair in your closet either.

Because big bags can hold a lot. Summer brings many adventures, and it's always better to be prepared for anything that may come than not. That's where a big bag comes in handy: fill it with snacks, suncreen, etc.

What are your summer essentials?

An Atlanta Must: West Provisions District

The West Provisions District: trendy, unique, wonderful. Boutiques lined with greenery, cafes with adorable outdoor seating - the whole area is just too cute. Every Sunday, you'll find a farmer's market in the main area of the district. The entire vibe of the area is just so warm. And of course, I took a few pictures to share.

...and more

These photos don't even begin to do this area justice. I know I'll be frequenting the district much more often now! I especially want to check out the farmer's market. If you're ever in Atlanta, this area is definitely a must.
