A Peplum Summer

This. Top. Gap really outdid it with their late spring/early summer arrivals. Recently, I've noticed that I'm aiming towards a more minimalist sense of style: instead of crazy patterns, I reach for solid colored or striped tops and solid color shorts and some subtle jewelry. It's not to say that I still love my patterns, but I'm also enjoying this less pattern-heavy style. To me, it all feels quite carefree- the perfect feeling for summer.

What's your summer style?

Lilly for Target Part 2

This past weekend, my good friend and I had a joint party for our high school graduation! It's insane to think that these past four years are coming to an end. All in that one time span, I made friends, lost friends, learned how to drive, got my first car (!!), found a passion for photography, went through as many ups as I did downs, developed my confidence, and, of course, started this blog. I'm extremely grateful for my high school experience - if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. (Well, maybe I would've studied harder for that calculus test.) Either way, I'm very excited for what life has in store for me next as I go on to the University of Georgia!

Lilly for Target

I know, I know - I'm quite late to the Lilly game in terms of posting what I managed to grab from the Lilly for Target collection. But, here I am! I'll periodically be posting the rest of what I got, as well. (I'm wearing another dress to an event this weekend, so look out for a post soon!)

Also, this dress is a kid's size dress! Being able to fit into kid's sizes is one of the few perks of looking like a 12-year-old, besides getting reduced tickets to Disney World. My main comment about the Lilly collection as a whole: the quality is amazing! I wasn't expecting true Lilly quality because of the prices, but the fabrics are extremely well-made. I'm quite excited to wear all my pieces all summer long!

All the Stripes

Stripes

Left column: 1 | 2 | 3
Right column: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

Stripes are, by far, my favorite pattern for clothing. I own much too many striped shirts, but, then again, who's counting? Stripes work for any season and can always be dressed up or dressed down - they're wonderful in that way! My favorite striped piece in my closet is this boat-neck striped shirt in navy.

Senior Prom

This past January, my AP Government class found out we wouldn't be able to go to prom because we would be in D.C. at the competition we'd been preparing for all year. We were all pretty devastated since we're all seniors and didn't want to miss our last prom, but we weren't about to give up everything we'd been working for and would be working for in the months preceding the competition. Our solution: if we can't go to prom, we'll have our own!

Over the weekend, we got dressed up, went out to dinner, and had a great time. Even though we didn't get to experience "real" prom, I'd say we still had so much fun. Plus, who doesn't love an excuse to get dressed up to take pictures with friends?

Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

Another way to say happiness? New arrivals. And what's even better than that? If the new arrivals are from Lilly Pulitzer! For some reason, the summer arrivals are always my favorites from Lilly. Maybe it's the bright patterns, or maybe it's the fact that it's finally warm enough to slip into colorful shorts or a shift dress - either way, I can't get enough of Lilly. I recently got these shorts, and, let me tell you, I might be wearing them every other day. Take a look at my favorites from the new arrivals below!

Navy Stripes

Leave it to J. Crew to make the perfect striped shirt. I've been looking for a piece like this shirt for a while now, so I was delighted when I saw it in J. Crew's summer arrivals! It's light enough for warm days, yet just right if there's a small breeze.

The shorts are from J. Crew Factory, and I loved them so much that I had to get them in red as well! Not only are they extremely comfortable, but they could easily be considered dressy. Seriously - they feel like pajamas: it's a win-win!

Strappy Sandals

Strappy Sandals

Left: 1 | 2 | 3
Right: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

I'm obsessed with sandals. They match everything and make any outfit that much better. I swear I live in the same three pairs, so I'm looking to add some variety to my sandal collection this spring/summer! At the top of my list: these Jack Rogers. I already have gold Jacks, but I'd love to mix a colorful pair into my rotation.
