Scalloping Around

Even though it's finally spring, we've still been having some colder days, which is why my jeans are still seeing the light of day. I refuse to go back to dreary winter outfits, though, which is why I'm trying to bring spring into every outfit I wear. I tried to do that here with a scalloped top and a pair of Jack Rogers. Side note - I'm over the moon about the scallop trend coming back and better than ever! I would have hated to see it go.

How do you bring spring into your everyday outfits?

Brightening Up for Spring

shirt//shorts//shoes (similar)//bracelets (similar)//necklace (old- from target)

Believe it or not, we had a 70-something-degree-day down here in Atlanta this past weekend! I took advantage of the weather and finally broke into my shorts collection for the first time since who-knows-when.

About the shirt - I'm not one to usually make an impulse buy, but I saw this shirt in J. Crew and heard it calling my name. I'm not sure whether it's the dreamy blue color or the casual chic nature of the shirt that makes me want to wear it all the time, but either way, this one will be a solid player in my spring and summer wardrobe.

Life According to Instagram

I've been having a lot of fun on my Instagram recently, so I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with a little more explanation than a caption can provide. If you're not following along on my Instagram adventures, click here to check out my feed!

1//I took this in Cape Cod one summer and loved it too much not to share it! I could get lost on a Cape Cod beach and not have one worry at all. The jetty in this photo was absolutely gorgeous to walk down. I love the clear distinction between the choppy water to the right of the jetty and the calm water to the left. I can't wait to go back this summer!

2//I am way too ready for spring and summer, if you couldn't tell. I've been growing my Lilly Pulitzer collection, as well as my dress collection in general, and I am more than excited to finally be able to wear them all! I took this while craving the sun when we were going through a pretty cold patch.

3//If you've never had a cupcake from Sprinkles Cupcakes, I recommend fixing that ASAP. My sister and I go far too often, and the outside of the store has these bright and fun walls, which make for perfect picture opportunities! I obviously had to take advantage of this colorful background to make for an adorable Instagram, if I do say so myself.

4//Remember how I said I'm way too ready for spring? Well, my spring break is in a matter of days now, and it's safe to say that I've been packing and getting things together for it for a while now. My family is heading down to Florida, and I am much too excited to have sand between my toes and the sun on my back.

5//I go to Shake Shack a lot - maybe too much, but who's counting? My friend and I decided to sit on the rooftop patio this time around, and let me tell you, this picture does not do the view justice. It was so much fun to see buildings peeking out from downtown Atlanta. So of course, I had to attempt to capture the amazing view!

Styling Oxfords with Julia

Oxfords: arguably the most vital piece of any preppy wardrobe. Whether you're going for a casual or a more dressed up look, they work for any outfit, anytime. Wear one with a skirt, with jeans, over a swim suit, over a dress; the possibilities are endless, which makes them so classic. Julia of Little Miss Haute Couture and I agree on this completely, which is why we decided to style our oxfords. Check out her post here.

And here's a photo from Julia's post!

The Week in Links

I would be lying if I said I wasn't counting down the days to my spring break, because I most definitely am. I've been longing for the warm sand, salty air, and blue waves for what seems like months now. Spring break is so close, I can almost feel the beach-y wind in my hair! Anyway, here are my favorite links from the week.

Spring Color Palette

Spring is such a fun time for styling outfits - you finally get to dust off your bright dresses, pastel skirts, and tan wedges after a long, dull winter. Spring is also a perfect time to do some experimenting with color palettes! It's always fun to see the different color variations every season, so here's a peek into what combos I'll be trying this spring.

What colors will you be wearing this spring?

Stripes for Spring

I had so much fun shooting for this post, mainly because I love this look so much! I saw this shirt on the J. Crew sale rack and immediately knew it had to get in my closet. It's such a fun take on the classic tee, and I will definitely be pairing it with white jeans in the future. Ankle boots would be a great alternative for the wedges, especially on colder days!

The Week in Links

Wow, has this week sped by. Every single day has felt like a Friday and Monday mixed into one! If you asked, I wouldn't be able to give you today's date because of the whirlwind that has picked up my life and blown it elsewhere. Regardless, I've stumbled across some pretty great posts/articles/clothing that I want to share!

Sucker for Seersucker

If you couldn't tell from my last outfit post, I am over the moon with how the weather has been recently. I'm also way too excited that it's more or less acceptable to wear seersucker again! J. Crew has the perfect seersucker swimsuit (featured in my spring break packing list) that I cannot wait to wear out on the beach in April.

Also, can someone help me understand how it's already March? When they say that senior year goes by quickly, they're not lying. Graduation in May is getting closer and closer, and, while that is exciting, I'm also pretty nervous to go out into the world and leave home. I know I have some great times ahead of me though!

Spring Break Packing List

Spring Break Packing List

swim suit bottoms

It feels like everyone I know is either at the beach or on their spring break because my Instagram feed is constantly filled with photos of tan legs and warm beaches. This may be because I follow a lot of bloggers who are spending time in warmer weather, or because a lot of my friends have early spring breaks - either way, I've been beach-dreaming far too often as of late. Hence this post!

My sunny-day wishes have been somewhat fulfilled recently because we've been experiencing weather in the high 60s this past week in Atlanta! Thank goodness, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to pull off the outfit post I put up a few days ago. Here's to hoping for more days where Jack Rogers and seersucker are acceptable!

What are your warm-weather wishes?

Blue Skirt, Blue Skies

It's finally warm enough for Jacks and skirts! It would be impossible for me to put exactly into words how happy this weather makes me - the proper explanation requires a jump for joy. Now don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy extremely hot days, but 70 with a nice breeze? That's my kind of weather. It reminds me of summertime when my family heads up to Cape Cod (for which I'm already counting down the days.)

How have you been spending these past days in the sun?
