Falling Into Fall

Fall is here! (Insert praise hands emoji.) If you couldn't tell from this post, this post, or this post, I am absolutely in love with everything about fall. Yes, I am one of those people that fully embraces all things fall, including the pumpkin-spice-everything trend.

Everything is prettier in the fall, including my wardrobe! I swear, my cutest clothes are fall/winter clothes. As much as I love all the J. Crew chino shorts, I do love a good sweater. So, here's one of my favorite outfits for when it's not too hot, but not quite too chilly yet!

What are your favorite fall transition outfits?

Fashion Inspiration: Preppy Chic

I've been in love with the preppy chic look recently. J. Crew's new catalog does the look perfectly along with a ton of outfits I've been seeing on my Pinterest timeline recently. I can't quite put into words what makes these types of looks so perfect, but you'll have to see for yourself in the pictures below! There's something so classy yet simple about these outfits; I guess that word would have to be chic! Yet, they still maintain that preppy flair that I love so much... Check them out!

Brooks Brothers Plaid

via

Guys. I am obsessed with this plaid shirt. It's practically the most flawless combination of colors, which is really hard to find in plaid. I'm honestly so picky about plaid because if the colors aren't right to me in even the slightest way, I won't like it. That being said, I've never seen a more perfect plaid shirt!

Burberry Scarf

via

To continue with the theme of plaid, I absolutely love Burberry scarves and would love to own one one day! Like I said, I'm super picky when it comes to plaid, but Burberry just seems to have it down. For now, I'm going to stay on the lookout for a good alternative that looks similar.

I love absolutely everything about the iPhone 6! I ordered mine and I am way, way too excited to get my hands on it. I've had the 4S for about three years now, and I recently cracked it (oops!). But it really was perfect timing because my new one should be here soon!

Alrighty, so those are the things that are on my wishlist for this week!

Playlist: Music Midtown

For those of you who don't know, I'm from Atlanta! Every year around September 20th or so, there's a huge two-day music festival (like more than 100,000 people huge) called Music Midtown. This year was my third year going, and let me tell you, it was the best year yet.

First of all, the lineup was amazing! We're talking Lorde, Magic Man, Eminem, John Mayer, 21 Pilots, Zac Brown Band, Bastille, Fitz and the Tantrums, and tons more. I didn't know much music by Magic Man or 21 Pilots, but after their concerts, I am in love with them!

So, I thought I'd put together a playlist of some of my favorite songs that I heard and share some of my pictures!

So this is the crowd that was behind us for Fitz and the Tantrums, Bastille, and Lorde. We were front row for those shows and we were at the same stage for 6 and a half hours! Crazy, I know. There was seriously an insane amount of people.

Can we talk about what an amazing performer Lorde is? This was definitely one of my favorite shows of the entire weekend. She was absolutely stunning and even better live than she is on the radio. The craziest part? She's 17! I'm 17 and all I've done with my life is go to school and make this blog...

So take a moment to really look at this picture. On the right is the drummer for 21 Pilots who CROWD SURFED his drum set! My friends in front of me held up the drum and some other people held a platform he stood on while he drummed. He put water on the top of his drum which was absolutely amazing to be 3 feet from.

Now take a look at the picture on the right. The lead singer CLIMBED the stage! I'm serious, it was a 40 foot tall stage or taller. He eventually got to the top and finished the song from there. It was the craziest concert I've ever been to.

Of course I wore J. Crew shorts to a music festival...

And finally, here's the lead singer of Fitz and the Tantrums, who is also an amazing performer. This weekend was absolutely amazing and crazy in the best way. I really hope I can go again next years!

Have you all been to any music festivals?

Guest Post: Motivation by Curls and Pearls Prepster

Motivation.

To me this means confidence.

Confidence is something that everyone struggles with and has a hard time with.

And I am one of them.

But over the years I have learned how to gain more confidence and motivation in every day life.

So here are my secrets!

Displaying Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 6.27.40 AM.png

1. Think of what your goals are and how you would like to be.
I have always thought of myself as a very shy person that never really wanted to talk to  anyone. But I have outgrown that. When I had very low motivation, I always imagined myself as a very strong, confident, and trustworthy girl. I though to my self “How could I become this?” or “What do I need to do?”. I started brainstorming things like getting involved or practicing things that I love so I could BE confident in them.

2. Keep track of your progress.
I have always kept a journal since I was little. Even though I don't write in it often because of school, I try to at least once every week. And in the time that I write, I try to talk about my feelings more then what's actually going on in my life. This helps me really think of how/what is hurting me emotionally and what is helping. Plus, it's always fun to read over what you wrote months before and what was happening in your life!

3. Find people that inspire you!
This is probably my biggest tip. Another component of motivation for me is to be inspired! Everyone has those people that they envy and wish they could be. I personally was so inspired from my dad because of what he sacrificed when I was little with our family. He inspired me to take chances and be confident in what you do! Your person could be your sister, cousin, teacher, or coach! Just make sure they have something in them that you are motivated to be! :)

Sperry Avery Loafers

I absolutely adore my new Sperrys. They're called the Avery Loafer and are the cutest mix between a flat and a loafer! I can't wait to come up with more outfits all fall and winter. They're so easy to wear because they match practically everything. Oh, and did I mention that they are pretty much the most comfortable shoes I own?

Also, wearing an un-tucked button down over jeans is the simplest yet classiest casual ever. I absolutely love this look and cannot wait to remake it with different tops!

I pretty much love this outfit because it's great for transitioning from fall to summer. The top is light enough where it won't make me sweat, but warm enough so I'm not freezing in the mornings. Plus, the shoes can work in pretty much any season!

What are your favorite summer to fall transition looks?

New York Fashion Week: Kate Spade

I'm absolutely horrible with keeping up with New York Fashion Week, but this bag definitely caught my eye when I was attempting to see what was going on. I cannot wait until Spring when this gorgeous bag is available! I just need to win the lottery between now and then to be able to buy it!

Tuckernuck
All Prep Pullover - Grey

I had heard of Tuckernuck before, but it wasn't until I saw this pullover that I got super-obsessed with the brand. Everything they have is adorable to the highest degree. I basically just want everything on the website. This would also be the perfect pullover for fall!

Madewell Booties

I've been obsessed with booties lately. I recently got a pair at Forever 21, and I've been having such a fun time trying them out with different outfits! The ones I have aren't too far from the design of these from Madewell, but the Madewell ones are just seamlessly perfect. The color, the heel, the zipper, everything! They also have a bunch of others to choose from on the website!

So that wraps it up for my Wednesday Whims for this week!

What have you all been lusting after lately?

P.S. It seems as though my Wednesday Whims are turning into weekly wishlists, so I'm planning on keeping it that way!

Ankle Booties

I can finally say I've found the perfect pair of ankle boots! I actually found them at Forever 21, but there are some great ones everywhere. I personally didn't want to spend too much, haha.

I love this outfit because it really is the perfect transition to fall. Not too many pieces so you don't burn up in the end-of-summer sun, but just enough where you match the changing scenery. I especially love how chic the right pair of ankle boots can make an outfit look!

Paris Street Style

I've recently been obsessed with French style. It's so chic (I find myself using that word a lot lately), clean, and downright put-together. There's something about the way French women dress that make them look like the most motivated, assertive, and confident women in the world. Paris street style is truly one of the best combinations of sharp elegance and neat simplicity.

The looks I've been finding on Pinterest have been inspiring some of my outfits lately and I couldn't help but share some of my favorites. Yay for pinspiration!

Pink and Polka Dots

I've recently been loving polka dots. They're so fun and can be dressed up or down, depending on how you wear them. I wore this outfit to school, but put on a black bodycon or flowy skirt, and you've got a cute outfit to go out in!

Wednesday Whims

Iced Caramel Macchiato

Iced Grande Skinny Caramel Macchiato -140 cals, 1 g fat, 21g carbs, 11 g protein. Delicious! one of my faves :)
via
Oh. My. Goodness. Where have these been all my life? They are the perfect combination of caramel, coffee, milk, and sugar. They taste even better with soy milk (which I have to get as I'm lactose-intolerant). The other day, I ordered one of these and since my drink was free (yay for earning stars!) the barista made me upgrade to a venti, LOL! Totally worth it.

Clothing Exchange Groups

A shirt I recently got off the exchange!
I recently joined an exchange group in my area and it has changed my life. Here's how they work: you post a picture in the group (on facebook) of a piece of clothing you don't want anymore with the size and price and people comment if they want it. Then, you find a way to get it to them and you've earned money all while cleaning out your closet! Not to mention, you can get J. Crew and Lilly for a fraction of the price! Most college campuses generally have things like this, too, so search around and see if there's one near you!

J. Crew T-Shirts

J.Crew Factory - Factory NYC collector tee
via

How cute is this shirt? It's from J. Crew Factory and I am so tempted to order it ASAP. I can just imagine wearing it with a black blazer, skinny jeans, and maybe cheetah print or red flats. It's so simple yet so chic. All of the J. Crew t-shirts are to die for!

So those are the things that have been catching my attention lately! Look out for another post like this next Wednesday!
